My TJ 4spd auto uses 12.5-13 L/100kms...all city driving, some Motorway driving....its has been around that figure for the past 7 years.. I am really surprised that you guys get such good mileage? 12.5 is when I fill up premium...

No knock sensors on the 3rd gen and theyre tuned for 91RON, in other words, you could be putting 102 octane in and the engine would treat it as 91.

Also my fuel consump. is schizo.

Usually low 13's which is 65% hardcore city driving (Parramatta Road in peak) and 35% suburban.

If I'm doing grandma mode and it's not peak, I can get mid 11's.

However I've seen it sitting at 18 and refusing to come down.

However on the freeway I get 8's.

The Magna really isn't a city car, it's a cruiser.

premium fuel 95/98 generally has better additives which assist with a cleaner burn. This can have positiive results on the Magna even though it cannot detect knock to advance or retard. It is a proven fact that running premium in a Magna attains better economy.
